SAFETY GUARDS transform the inexpensive open tube fixture into an attractive and safe unit. They should be installed on all open tube fixtures which are mounted over hazardous areas or at a height of 12 feet or less.
Industry has found that the hazard of falling lamps due to impact, vibration from roof fans, machinery, low flying aircraft, cranes, etc., not only endangers their personnel, but can cause extensive damage to their machinery and product. Supermarkets and other public occupancies are constantly facea with vandalism and claims for injury from falling lamps and broken glass.
SAFETY GUARDS are constructed of 14 gauge special temper steel wire rod, welded into a rectangular mesh configuration. Wire spacing is 2" x 21/2" and actual length of guard is 473/4" for four foot fixtures. (Eight foot units are supplied with 2 four foot guards.) The length of the guard assures clearance of end plates, as well as perfect alignment for continuous row fixture mounting. End plates, where required, are available at additional cost. Finished in brite zinc, Safety Guards hinge from either side and are attached to fixtures by means of special clips.
Heavy duty, 11 gauge wire SAFETY GUARDS are available upon special request.
